Río Negro
Central America is the central geographic region of the Americas. It is variably defined either as being a region of the Americas in its own right or as the southern portion of North America. Physiographically, Central America is a tropical isthmus that connects North and South America. It includes 7 countries and many small offshore islands. Overall, the land is fertile and rugged, and dominated through its heart by a string of volcanic mountain ranges with a few active volcanos. Rio Negro is a province of Argentina, located at the northern edge of Patagonia. In 2001, the population of the city was 552,822 and an area of 203,013 square kilometers. Argentina is a country in southern South America. It ranks second in land area in South America and eighth in the world. Argentina occupies a continental surface area of 2,791,810 square kilometers between the Andes mountain range in the west and the southern Atlantic Ocean in the east and south.
