San Juan
Central America is the central geographic region of the Americas. It is variably defined either as being a region of the Americas in its own right or as the southern portion of North America. Physiographically, Central America is a tropical isthmus that connects North and South America. It includes 7 countries and many small offshore islands. Overall, the land is fertile and rugged, and dominated through its heart by a string of volcanic mountain ranges with a few active volcanos. San Juan is a province of Argentina and is located in the western part of the country. Neighbouring provinces are, moving clockwise from the north, La Rioja, San Luis and Mendoza. It borders Chile on the west. The total area is 89,651 square kilometers with population is 620,023 in 2001 and density is 6.92 per square kilometers. The city of San Juan de la Frontera was founded by Juan Jufre Montesa in 1562 and relocated 2 kilometres south in 1593 due to the frequent flooding of the San Juan River. San Juanis definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in Central America worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place leaves a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justifies the proud cultural tradition of Central America.
Like some of its sister municipalities and towns, San Juan is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in Central America.
